About Phantom Shopping

The basic concept of Phantom Shopping comes from one of the leading Mystery Shopping firms of the US. Based on the know-how of our American parent company, our aim was to create a company that is familiar with all the developments and achievements of this profession on an international level and can also contribute to its further development.

There’s another pivotal point to this concept: Phantom Shopping aims not only at surveying the problems that prevent the developement of our partners, but also at finding possible ways for improvement. This is a key element in our cooperation with our clients.

After theoretical and practical preparations based on our parent company’s 25 years of experience, Phantom Group Ltd. was established in 2004. In the same year, following a succesful tender, we entered into partnership with a leading telecommunications company for conducting Mystery Shopping Surveys.

Proving its preparedness and efficiency, Phantom Shopping was granted membership of the International Association of Service Evaluators (IASE) a year later. The purpose of IASE is to improve the standars of our profession, therefore it expects its members to meet rigorous ethical and professional requirements. Members are admitted on invitation basis, after careful audition.

Phantom Shopping is the only company in Hungary that is a member not only of IASE, but also MSPA (Mystery Shopping Providers Association). Both memberships enable us to establish a unique level of competence and standard based on international experience.

2006 - Year of Expansion

Growing clientele induced Phantom Shopping to go international. Thus the year 2006 saw the founding of our first subsidiary company, Phantom Shopping Romania. This provides us with a background of experience for international surveys.

2007 - Year of Innovation

Improvement is the essence of our work. Thus 2007 was a year of technological and methodological innovations. We started developing a dinamic online report system, Mystery Motive, which became the most advanced web-surface of its kind in Europe. Furthermore, Phantom Shopping played host to the 2007 conference of IASE.

2008 - Year of Internationality and HR

In 2008 Phantom Shopping launched its first international comparative surveys. Apart from Romania, we are present in 14 countries – and we are still expanding.

Simultaneously, due to the rising number of commissions and our accumulating experience, spotlight fell on HR-innovation. It became clear that, for further developement and achievement, we need an internal structure capable of working as a highly coordinated unit while each of the members have their own specialised fields of competence. This developement resulted in our current staff that represents Phantom Shopping and helps our clients on the road to improvement.

2009 - Year of Horizontal Expansion

As of today, the message of Phantom Shopping is clear and simple: We achieve improvement. Everywhere.
In order to reach our goal, and in result of our expanding clientele, we focus on developing related services.
